Every day carry (EDC)

I was a Boy Scout growing up, and the Boy Scout motto was ingrained in me from the beginning- Be Prepared. As a boy, you can believe that there’s a way to be prepared always, but in reality, you can’t be 100% prepared for everything. There’s many different methodologies and advice for building out your EDC essentials. Some seem pretty logical and beneficial, others seem like a chapter out of doomsday preppers. There’s always the possibility to be “outgunned”. Handgun beats knife: AR-15 beats handgun: stealth bomber beats AR-15 ( ridiculous analogy, but it gets the point across). It’s not legal or feasible to drive around town in a tank, so you need to rely the most on your common sense and level headed thinking, and always look for the peaceful way out if trouble finds you.

If your interested in this EDC lifestyle, you need to find what works for you, and most importantly, what is comfortable. This is my list of what I carry on a regular basis.

1. Handgun-

My concealed carry: the full size Smith and Wesson M&P .9mm.

2. Self defense/multi tool

The CRKT Snailor 2.0. Carabiner, bottle opener, mini brass knuckles.

I also have some other multi tools that I use around my house, this skull head one I use often.

3. Utility knife

5. Worry coin

I know lots of people who have something called a challenge coin, but this is much different than that. A worry coin is designed to help people who deal with MDD, PTSD, anxiety, OCD etc. A form of reflexology, I use this to help calm and focus me when my MDD kicks in. Thanks to the great Etsy shop of Shire Post Mint for a wonderful design, and incredible hand crafted worry coin.

6. Minimalist wallet

I have always had issues with big bulky wallets, so I recently discovered this style called a minimalist wallet. This is from an awesome online shop called Tactical Gear, and it is fantastic for fitting in any pocket, front or back.
